6 Business Travel Executive askBTE com November 2019 IN INDUSTRY NEWS Road Warriors Positive About Business Travel Business travelers feel that the positives outweigh the negatives at work 92 percent and at home 82 percent when traveling for business according to research from CWT Travelers from the Americas are the most enthusiastic at 94 percent and 86 percent respectively followed by travelers from Asia Pacific at 93 percent and 84 percent and Europe at 89 percent and 77 percent CWTs research also shows that travelers worldwide feel the top three benefits of meeting with people in person are developing trust 39 percent getting to know people better 32 percent and greater efficiencies 31 percent The survey was based on responses from more than 2700 business travelers earlier this year Traveler Survey Shows Airport Satisfaction Stalls Hyatt Debuts New Lifestyle Brand SPONSORS Hyatt has launched Caption by Hyatt a lifestyle lodging brand aimed at inspiring connections between people The new product fits within the select service category and will feature rooms and common areas that are designed with flexibility to allow guests to move things around and make their own space for lounging and small events Caption will feature food and beverage designed and curated in partnership with Danny Meyers Union Square Hospitality Group Each property will have between 150 and 250 rooms No locations have been announced but the focus will be on urban and downtown cores dense suburban markets mixeduse lifestyle developments and emerging urban neighborhoods Traveler satisfaction with airports has stagnated according to the J D Power 2019 North America Customer Airport Satisfaction Study The overall customer satisfaction score this year for North American airports is 762 up 1 point from 2018 The modest performance is attributable to lower than average facility access scores with larger numbers of travelers citing construction related delays getting into and out of the airport The top performing airports such as Detroit Metropolitan Portland International and Indianapolis International all have relatively new facilities that accommodate increased passenger volume incorporate localized food and beverage offerings and offer easy access The experience of getting through airport security a perennial drag on airport satisfaction scores has improved 5 points thanks to better screening processes and technologies
